Thee Pidikka
The weird thing about Tamil music is that sometimes the crappiest films have the most mindblowing music. This is one of my favourite tracks - the raunchy lyrics, husky voice and various musical styles make for good listening. Pretty evocative too, IMO.

[two thumbs up]

What makes this is the trad. percussion. (For me.) I like it when there's a good balance between contemporary and folk/trad. styles - and the Arabic touches here add a lot.

Non-Hindi and non-English music always turned me off untill I heard some real good Illiyaraja and AR Rahman tunes. I dont get a word of them but the peppy numbers always make my feet tap. The slow and appartenly senti kinda songs create that soft melody from ear to heart.
